Like a Phoenix from the Ashes
The idea of the own production of submersible pumps was realized in 1947 and WILO EMU Unterwasserpumpen GmbH was founded in 1949. The rising sales numbers necessitate the construction of new production halls in Hof in 1955. Then, as now, WILO EMU customers include the municipal services of cities and towns, specific administration unions, mines, spas and industrial companies.

The 3rd Generation
The next change of generation takes place in steps as from 1970, when Christian's grandsons start working in the management boards: Dr. Walter Etschel, Hermann Etschel, Rudolf Etschel and Helmut Etschel. In 1974, new production facilities are built in Hof, a new office building in 1976.

Continuous Expansion
Cooperation with other companies opens up the "sewage treatment plant" sector for WILO EMU. The company supplies specially developed submersible sewage pumps for this area and in another step machinery equipment such as prefabricated pumping stations, machines to clean storm water basins, system aerators, submersible mixers and recirculation pumps Sales agencies are established all over the world.
