At the beginning of the year 2003 the Etschel & Meyer GmbH + Co KG sold its shares in the EMU Unterwasserpumpen GmbH (founded in 1949) as well as its shares in the subsidiary company EMU Anlagenbau GmbH, Hof, to the family company WILO AG, a joint stock company (= AG) not listed on the stock exchange, emanating from the Messingwarenfabrik (factory for brass products) Louis Opländer Maschinenbau founded in 1872 in Dortmund. The WILO AG operates worldwide in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America, has 8 plants in 5 countries and 39 marketing companies. Thus the EMU-companies complete the product portfolio of the Wilo AG without clashing. The Wilo AG with its 3050 employees and an annual turnover of 535 mill.. Euro belongs to the world market leaders in the range pumps and pump systems for building services. The worldwide sales network of both companies perfectly complete each other and pave the way for a global expansion of their activities. What both pump manufacturers do have in common is their high quality and innovation standard as well as the excellent synergies in the fields research and development to the benefit of their customers. The EMU management consists of Mr. Carsten Krumm (M.D.) and Mr. Klaus Hagen (M.D. Technique).
In order to combine the existing competence in the company regarding the communal markets – water supply and sewage disposal – we have decided to merge the three German contracting companies the EMU Wasser- und Abwassertechnik GmbH in Roth, the EMU Anlagenbau GmbH in Hof and the EMU Anlagentechnik Nord GmbH in Hamburg and Woldegk to one contracting company. The new company’s name is: EMU Anlagenbau GmbH. (Managing directors Günther Bitzenbauer and Manfred Schaffeld). With this we are able to offer custom-made solutions in the future and of course, will provide our experiences regarding products and applications for the complete water supply systems to sewage disposal. One of our most important jobs remains to guarantee proximity to the customer and customer satisfaction.
These modifications successfully executed and the positive results gained are due to the concentration to our factors for success: fruitful growth, technology leadership, customer orientation and committed employees. With this orientation we will guarantee the common success of EMU in the WILO Group, master the future challenges and expand our international market position.
